WNBA besties Courtney Williams and Natisha Hiedeman – aka The Stud Budz – of the Minnesota Lynx debuted bright, period-red hair and a custom U by Kotex tunnel walk outfit last week, making a bold statement against period stigma in sports. Known for their infectious energy and cool-yet-confident style, the Stud Budz let their personality shine through as they walked the tunnel-turned-runway, outfitted in white, oversized “I Play On My Period” tees. Then, over the weekend, top players including the Veronica Burton (Golden State Valkyries), Breanna Stewart (NY Liberty), Gabby Williams (Seattle Storm), Te-hina PaoPao (Atlanta Dream), Stud Budz (Minnesota Lynx), Nalyssa Smith (Las Vegas Aces) and Kelsey Mitchell (Indiana Fever), were seen sporting a unique fashion statement in partnership with U by Kotex: a bold “I Play On My Period” pin to show they all play on their period. This initiative aims to encourage women and girls to stay in the game – because a period shouldn’t hold them back from playing, competing or succeeding.
